"So much discussion about "fair value, " mark-to-market accounting, and accounting standards such as FAS 157. This blog has never been about discussing or dissecting the technical merits of one accounting standard or another, or even about how accountants and auditors should apply the standards. I know enough to know my limits."

I do not understand FAS 157, and here's a post on FAS 157!!!

The hits just keep on coming...

Why am I not surprised...how would any Big 4 be able to maintain arms length and not be entangled in any conflict?

Were other options - i.e. non CPA firms - even considered? Why not a gubiment OIG agency...anything but those two firms who are neck deep in this mess with their clients.

No one in Congress is screaming about this? Someone in Congress is always screaming about something - why not this.

Nobody cares about the auditors I suppose...other than plaintiff lawyers...oh the tangled web we weave...

But I digress.

-- The Great Santini
