“…There’s nothing wrong with hiring more of your interns for full time positions. It does close off opportunities for graduates to switch firms – get hired full time for a firm you didn’t intern for – and for those who don’t intern to ever be hired, especially by the Big 4. But, hiring more interns instead has big pitfalls, for both the employee and the firm. Interns have a higher probability of a full time job, but KPMG for example, hired hundreds of fewer new graduates for full time work and cut hundreds already on the rolls in all practices, nationwide in the last eighteen months…”
